The councils bus champion Cllr Richard Bryon is keen to encourage more people to use the town bus service the number 197. The service runs Monday to Friday and is subsidised by the town council.

In order to promote the service he, with support from Cllrs Pam Powell and Sue Carden, plan to do a targeted leaflet drop along the route.

He says the service also needs to be promoted on the council website and Town Council/community Facebook pages. There has been a discussion on the route and whether it could be extended to include some of the new estates. This would need investigating with the EYMS who operate the service.
