At the last meeting of the Shiptonthorpe Parish Council Chairman Victor Lambert paid tribute to the number of hours his colleagues had spent responding to a non residents request for information. The non resident was me and I requested evidence to support claims made by Cllr David Gough and others about the former council and parish clerk.
It was never my intention to cause anyone extra work.
Because Cllr David Gough presented his various claims as fact, I simply assumed someone would forward me the information he based those claims on. That information has never been produced.
Shiptonthorpe residents might be forgiven for thinking the claims were made in order to simply get elected.
The fact is that Cllr Gough and others made spurious claims and for the last 18 months they have been looking for the evidence to support those claims which they have not yet found.
They thought that no one would challenge them until a non-resident did.
Instead of blaming me for wasting their time perhaps they should give there heads a wobble and ask themselves if it was right to allow unsubstatiated claims to be made and then publish those claims on their website.
