POCKLINGTONS DEAD TREES.

Last week Pocklington Town council asked Ward Cllr David Sykes if East Riding Council will be removing the trees they recently planted but which are now dead due to lack of watering.

It was accepted that the weather last year was very hot and there was a drought but why couldn’t staff who were not needed to cut grass have been re directed to water the trees.

One town councillor observed that late in the season ERYC did start watering all the recently planted trees including those which were clearly dead. When challenged, staff said they had been instructed to water the trees in Pocklington so that’s what they were doing.

Finally a challenge. See if you can find out how to report an issue with a tree on the ERYC website.
