POCKLINGTON TOWN COUNCIL TO SET UP WORKING GROUP TO DISCUSS OPTIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF BURNBY HALL

Official Statement from Town Council.

Pocklington Town Council were disappointed to discover recently that ERYC have made plans to explore divestment of Burnby Hall without any dialogue with PTC, Pocklington Residents or communities in the surrounding area.

Given Major Stewart’s intention was that the Hall was left to the people of Pocklington we hope that ERYC will afford Pocklington Town Council, Community Groups and Charities time to review potential options to retain Burnby Hall for Community and Charitable purposes as a future use rather than dispose of this wonderful historical building for Commercial or Residential use by the private sector.

Pocklington Town Council have this week set up a small working group and would like to hear from any parties interested in exploring setting up a collaborative working group over the coming weeks regarding potential solutions for future safeguarding of the building. If your group would like to register an interest, please contact Pocklington Town Council email:
