Responding to the news that ERYC has agreed to transfer Burnby Hall to Pocklington Town Council on a 125 year lease Pocklington Mayor Roly Cronshaw said:

“My thanks go out to the extremely hard-working team within the PTC who have worked long hours in securing Burnby Hall for Pocklington and the surrounding communities.
I also extend thanks to the volunteers who have helped us along the way and the people of Pocklington who showed amazing support in our on-line survey, demonstrating the strength of feeling within the town to retain Burnby Hall and turn in into a building which will be of great community benefit for many years to come.
We will call a public meeting soon to plan the next steps, there is still a great deal to be done to ensure that the building is fit for purpose but this is an excellent result which comes as we start our celebrations of 50 years as a town council”.
