Pocklington Group Practice Earns High Praise in Latest GP Patient Survey

Pocklington Group Practice has emerged as one of the top-performing surgeries in the York area, according to the 2025 NHS GP Patient Survey results. With 94.25% of respondents rating their overall experience as positive, the practice secured fourth place in the York area regional rankings. Top was Escrick surgery with 97.42%.

In comparison the Market Weighton Group practice scored 56% for overall patient experience.
The survey, conducted earlier this year, revealed several standout metrics for the Pocklington Group Practice:
  • 100% of patients had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to – the national average is 93%
  • 96% of patients felt their needs were met during their last appointment—well above the national average of 90%.
  • Reception staff received a 96% helpfulness rating, compared to the national average of 83%.
  • 79% of patients were offered a choice of appointment. National average 54%
  • 63% usually get to see their preferred GP, a figure that remains a challenge across many practices. National average 40%
The practice also outperformed regional averages in digital accessibility, with 90% of patients finding it easy to contact the surgery via its website, compared to just 51% nationally.
These results reflect a continued upward trend for Pocklington Group Practice, which saw its overall satisfaction score rise from 82% in 2022 to 92% in 2023, and now to over 94% in 2025.
The survey was completed by 101 patients out of 252 invited.
