POCKLINGTON FEASTIVAL A SUCCESS

Earlier this month town councillors seemed very pleased with reactions and footfall. It was said that one charity shop had doubled it’s takings on the Saturday and the Mayor was of the opinion that many people had travelled from across the county to attend.
Despite concerns about communication with local traders and the local community the town council hoped that it would be possible to host a similar event next year.
Those views are now supported by official data provided by the ERYC department that commissioned the event.
Comments received by the council included:
Positives – new event in the town, very busy, lots of new visitors from further afield, varied food offer that didn’t directly compete with existing outlets.
Negatives/areas for improvement – parking, wider promotion and position of stalls.
Here’s the full breakdown of the numbers but remember, Sunday was a bit of a washout so these stats only relate to the Saturday.
