POCKLINGTON BUS SHELTER.

As has already been widely discussed, Pocklington School will soon install metal railings to close off the front of their sports hall to stop vandalism and people using it as a public toilet. Unfortunately this will mean that people waiting for a bus will no longer be able to use it to shelter from bad weather.

Given the fact that the changes have got planning permission and will go ahead Pocklington Town Cllrs suggested to Ward Councillors that ERYC Planning must have known that people used it for shelter and asked if there any plans for a larger bus shelter to be built.

Ward Cllr Paul West said that the problem was that there wasn’t enough space. After suggestions that a more holistic approach could be taken and perhaps consider using part of the adjacent car park for a larger bus shelter Paul West agreed to raise the issue with officers.
