It’s called Gastro Festival and it will take place on West Green Field on Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of July.
After the success of Pocklington Christmas Market ‘Dowse Events’ are bringing a free event to Pocklington in the summer, and Gastro Festival is a concept they have been working on for the past year and they tought “what better place to launch it than Pocklington”.
Like the Christmas Market, Gastro Fest will have a huge range of local and international food producers and craft traders, plus some amazing entertainment. From circus workshops and family entertainment, to comedy acts and lots of live music, Gastro Festival will be suitable for all the family.
YO1 radio will host the Main Stage, which will have some outstanding local performers and a Taylor Swift tribute on Saturday, as well as a Freddie Mercury and Queen tribute headlining the Sunday.
Dowse Evennts say there has been a massive amount of interest in the event from traders so the selection process is set to be a tough one. The street food traders will be joined by a selection of bars which include craft ale, cocktails and Tex’s Bar: a pop stretch tipi bar with indoor seating it’s own acoustic stage for those who want to take a minute to relax and enjoy a quiet drink with some chilled out vibes. As the night pushes on you’re likely to catch a little country hoedown or some disco classics down at Tex’s.
Gastro will also have a huge 200m zip line to tickle the tastebuds of Pocklington’s thrill seekers.
