The Humber Forest are working with HMP Full Sutton and The Conservation Volunteers (York) to plant over 1,000 native trees and shrubs on the Ministry of Justice grounds at the end of Glebe Avenue. This will increase the adjoining woodland, which will help increase biodiversity and support local wildlife. Current pathways around the field will remain.
Local residents are invited to join Humber Forest and representatives at the HMP Full Sutton Visitor Centre on Wednesday 7th February from 3:30pm to 7:00pm to learn more.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would like more information, you can contact Humber Forest at [email protected] for the attention of Lorna and they will endeavour to respond to your query quickly.
‘Humber Forest’ helps communities, farmers, landowners, and businesses to plant trees in the easiest and most effective way possible, at no cost.
With backing from local authorities, government organisations and charities, they provide free advice and guidance, access to funding and investment, and plenty of project support.
