Today the Government announced thatmore than 100 projects will get a share of £2.1bn of levelling up funding.
This will include:
£18m for seafront developments in Cleethorpes.
Barton on Humber £20m for transport improvements.
£50m for The Eden Project in Morecambe, Lancashire,
£50m grant to build a new direct train service linking Cornwall’s largest urban areas.
Mr Sunak’s own constituency of Richmond, in North Yorkshire, will get £19m to develop the Catterick Garrison town centre.
The London Borough of Camden – where Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has his constituency – will receive £7m for cycling and walking infrastructure and local GP services.
There is nothing for East Yorkshire. As you can see on the map below the East Riding is a blank sheet of paper.
On the other hand there could be good reasons for no funding coming to our area including:
No one made a bid.
Our area is at the bottom of the Governments list due to the inability of ERYC and Hull CC to agree a devolution deal.
East Yorkshire is already flat and does not need to levelled.
Everyone in East Yorkshire votes Tory so there’s no need to waste money on us.
Bad luck.
