I consider the statement you made at last week’s meeting about my work to be defamatory. You accused me of bad mothing the council and undermining their work. Can you please provide evidence by Friday 30 September 2023 of any story I have written which is factually incorrect.

You should know that several requests for information about current issues to key individuals before and after the election have not been responded to. I would be happy to provide you with copies of e mails, notes and recordings to show you the lengths I have gone to try and illustrate both sides of the story. I am confident that I have enough evidence to refute your claims in a court of law if necessary.

I look forward to receiving your response before Friday.

I was a little surprised to receive your email, which on reading I perceived to be really quite aggressive.

I see nothing defamatory in what I said. I am entitled to my opinion, it is my view that the Bugle has run the wrong story.

On checking the Parish Council website I note they have posted the draft minutes for the last meeting along with a number of appendices.

I was sorry to read that you considered my e mail to be ‘quite aggressive’. I will try harder to adopt a softer tone in the future.

You are indeed entitled to an opinion. However, I consider that you have damaged my good reputation by stating in a public meeting that my stories are unprincipled.

I might not be writing what you want to hear but my work is based on irrefutable facts.

Please will you apologise to me in writing before 12 noon on Monday for claiming that my reporting is unprincipled. A claim which you have not been able to justify with any evidence.
